Imperial
Consuls and Emperors (Augusti and Caesars)
2
incl. 0 emperors
Notes:
Most Licinii are from Oinoanda (or Oenoanda)
in Lycia in tribus Sergia. Their genealogy is derived from IGR-III-500. Some
are from Xanthos and Cadyanda in Lycia.
Nomen Licinnius derived from C. Licin(n)ius
Mucianus, leg Aug pro prof Lycia
c.60-62/3 and later consul 3 times (RE116a).
The consular and jurist M. Cn. Licinus Rufinus
from Thyateira in Lydia, (L236 RE151) is excluded, though he is nomen is
sometimes spelled Licinnius.
The consular governor of Cappadocia,
Serenianus is usually identified with the Licinnius Serenianus, clar vir, on
an inscription in Baetica with his wife from Baetica.
This is not proof of origin, since his nomen
Licinnius and governorship in the East would rather point to an Eastern
origin.
