Notes:
The name Iulius Candidus is common among
centurions, but they are very unlikely to be related to the senatorial
Candidi.
The stemma with similar named Iulii Candidi is
not certain. I have generally followed Scheid p.352-360 in his detailed
discussion.
The identification of Ti. Iulius Candidus
(Capito ?) J239 with Ti. Iulius Capito cos suff 122 seems unlikely since
nowhere in the Arval acts is he styled Capito.
The two sons of J241 (J237 and J239) are as
senior arvals likely to have been suffect consuls, but there is no evidence.

Sherk: Legates of Galatia (1952) p.52-53 dates
Ti. Iulius Candidus Marius Celsus cos 86 105 governorship to 93-95, not
88-91, but this has been refuted later,
since the argument is that he was in Rome 89
as magister of the Arval Brethren, however the chosen magister was often
substituted by his promagister.
